Good News!

The Doctor had told the nurses to take the oxygen away slowly throughout the day, but his stats did not do very good when they lowered the oxygen. When the doctor came back last night she asked why the oxygen had not been lowered. Of course the nurses explained. The doctor took the oxygen tubes out of his nose and said ” lets see what happens”. He did great. They took the oxygen off completely. Later when we stopped by to see him the nurse let us hold him. We had not been able to hold him for almost 2 days. Because the oxygen was off we were able to hold him for 30 minute. It was great. He was able to take his sunglasses of and look around. Because he is still jaundice he has to stay on the lights so we can not hold him very long.

This morning he was still doing good. They gave him 2ml of sugar water by mouth. He gulped it down. Because he did so well the doctor said they could try a whole bottle of breast milk. He did very good with that also. Although he is doing better they want to keep him one more day, and Judith’s doctor said she could stay also.We will hopefully be able to keep him in the room and hold him more. Lord willing we will be able to take him home tomorrow.

Congratulations!!!! He is a beautiful baby. Charlie and I have been praying for him and the rest of the family we know it must be hard but God is watching over him and I know everything will be fine. We really hope you get to take him home soon. I cannot wait until may when I get to come home and see all of you. I love all of you very much!
